• In this section participants create ONE artwork
• Artworks should represent a visual exploration of the theme through classic art elements (composition, depth, line, form and/or colour).
• No collages are allowed.
• Any medium may be used in A3 paper (297 mm x 420 mm).
• Artworks must be mounted on cardboard. No framed work will be allowed. Use a fixative spray if the medium can smudge.
• The following must be indicated clearly:
– Participant’s name
– Theme and title of the artwork, e.g. THEME: My favourite fairy-tale, TITLE: Goldilocks is sleeping.
• Artworks are adjudicated on drawing/painting technique, composition, tonal value, and (importantly) degree of observation and expression.
• Each participant receives a certificate and adjudicator’s report.
• A winner, runner-up, 3rd place and most promising artist will be announced.
• An exhibition and prize-giving ceremony will be held in the MDDA Centre on 2 September 2021, 18:00.
• Prize winners will be notified. Artworks may be removed after the exhibition.
