This section is only for high school learners.

• In this section a portfolio of 3 photos from different genres is presented.
• Participants may choose any THREE of the following genres:
– Genre 1: Lifestyle/Portrait
– Genre 2: Nature
– Genre 3: Sport/Movement
– Genre 4: Landscape
– Genre 5: Still life/Product
– Genre 6: Evening/Night photography
• Please indicate the camera model & lens.
• The 3 Photographs in the portfolio must be mounted on thick, black cardboard.
• Photographs may only be taken with a DSLR camera.
• Black-and-white or colour photos are allowed.
• Digital manipulation including crop, burn, dodge, filters or treatments available on Photoshop and Instagram or other photo-editing software are allowed, but manipulation beyond these treatments will not be allowed. Images may not be digitally “created” by combining two separate images using software. Software may only be used to enhanced existing photographs.
• Participants who use digital manipulation must please attach a smaller copy of the original unedited photograph on the back of the entry.
• Photographic submissions must be printed and submitted on A4 glossy, photographic paper (297 x 210 mm).
• Photos must be mounted on thick, black cardboard. NOTE: No blocked word will be allowed.
• The following must be indicated clearly:
– The participant’s name
– The make, model and lens of the camera.
– Genre and title of each photo, e.g. GENRE: Lifestyle, TITLE: Shopping
– The specific settings used on the camera, e.g. ‘Manual Mode’, ‘ISO’, “F-STOP’.
• Each participant receives a certificate and adjudicator’s report.
• A winner, runner-up, 3rd place and most promising photographer will be announced.
• An exhibition and prize-giving ceremony will be held in the MDDA Centre on 2 September 2021, 18:00.
• Prize winners will be notified. Photos may be removed after the exhibition.
